For any leader, vision is very important for example a CEO. You must be able to have full knowledge of the business from the inside out when you’re a leader. Where the company is headed and where it ought to be is something you should know. Only then will they be able to guide the employees under them on how to go about things. It is vision that dictates the decisions that should be made and the course of action to be taken in every situation. As of direction is achieved by the company and everyone in them.
In the company or business, one important quality is that one must be accessible and approachable by everyone. The open-door system is the approach that has taken over. What this system means is that everyone can be able to approach the leadership without any difficulties and put across their hearts and mind concerning certain things that could be troubling them.
One other important quality is respect. When you respect someone they also respect you in return and therefore respect is one thing that is two-way. Respect your employees even though they are under you and are under your command because it is always good respect. You and respect instead of commanding and therefore peaceful coexistence is created between you and your employees. You will be a good example to employees and they will emulates these when relating among themselves.
Even as you scale up the ladder, one thing that has also been pointed out is learning from people. Those people around us always teach us something for instance even those who are below us for example employees. As you scale up the career ladder, it is important that you continue learning from people and not to despise anyone. Whatever you learn all is make sure you apply and put into practice so that it ceases to be knowledge but it may also transform you.
Finally, it is good to be honest and true to yourself and others. People will do the same to you as you do to them.
